I did not hold out much hope for the Robins chances of holding Worksop Town but after a shaky start Ilkeston grew in confidence and Leon Kelly in the first half and James Fox in the second caused considerable problems for the experienced Tigers defence. It was a surprise to see Damian Beattie as a sub keeper especially as he was called Damian Johnson on the teamsheet. Unfortunately he did not get a run out. Chris Thompson was another comeback kid but his substitute appearance lasted only a matter of seconds after an off the ball incident. Craig Swinscoe ex Mansfield Town and Burton Albion impressed at right back and James Fox looked promising up front. Ex Corby player Ossie Mintus may come good in time but ex Lincoln City player Adam Buckley never really got into the game.

Overall not a bad start at all!!

As you have probably noticed I have revamped the website and hopefully made it a bit easier to navigate. The old version was not perfect but it did work and I kind of got used to it. I hope that this page will be a page for myself and other contributors to rant, praise, moan, celebrate and generally give an honest appraisal of the roller coaster ride which is supporting Ilkeston Town Football Club.

By the way the fixtures will be on the site very soon. In fact as soon as I am sure that everything has been sorted and the Spanish Bar Steely Dan Fan Club has checked my technological advances they will be there.
