For all the numpties out there who are almost as sad as I am see how much you know about Ilkeston Town in 2004. Post your answers on the forum or e mail to mail@whiteballproject.co.uk
Ilkeston Town's game against Eastwood Town fell victim to the cold weather when it was cancelled due to parts of the Coronation park pitch being frozen solid. A local referee inspected the pitch at 12.00pm and said it was 50/50 whether it would be fit but the referee tested the pitch at 1.40 and immediately postponed the fixture. The day was not a complete waste however as North Ferriby went down 2-0 at Brigg Town.
Ilkeston Town's next game is at the New Manor Ground on Saturday 1st January against Belper Town and is a 3.00pm kick off.
Ryan Hindley the Robins top scorer is on holiday in Thailand and has contacted the WhiteBallProject to indicate that he is safe and well despite the devastation around him. We wish Ryan a safe journey back to England but most of all we send our best wishes to people who are suffering on the coastlines bordering the Indian Ocean.
Ex Robin Simon Weaver has joined Kidderminster Harriers from Lincoln City. Weaver started his career at Sheffield Wednesday but made his League debut at Doncaster Rovers. He joined the Robins at the same time as Chris Marples and Charlie Bishop and instantly formed an impressive defensive triangle. He then joined Nuneaton Borough before being signed for a second time Keith Alexander when he joined Lincoln. Earlier this season he had a loan spell at Macclesfield Town. Also on the move is ex Robin Andy Evans who has moved to Frickley Athletic from Ossett Town.
Ilkeston Town defied the odd to defeat the Unibond League Premier Division leaders Workington 3-1 on their home turf. The Robins were without a number of players through injury but did introduce new signing Mick Goddard who had an impressive debut. Goddard made the opener for Man of the Match Nigel Jemson after 42 minutes. Steve Johnson added a second after Workington had equalised and Stuart Copnell scored a late goal to seal an impressive victory for the Robins. FOR MATCH REPORT click here>>>>
The draw has rewarded the Robins with an away tie at high riding Whitby Town in Saturday 22nd January.

Ilkeston Town have completed the signing of Mick Goddard from Alfreton Town. The fee is rumoured be in the region of £6,000 and represents good value for the 26 year old who has scored 57 goals in 111 appearances for the Reds, 31 of which were as a substitute. Goddard signed for Alfreton Town from Worksop Town nearly three years ago but before that had played for Hallam. Earlier this season he had a successful loan spell at Stocksbridge Park Steels.
Unfortunately for Ilkeston this is where the good news finished for later the same evening they were beaten by Belper Town in the Derbyshire Senior Cup. Goals from Sam Carter and Rudi Coleano were enough to beat the Robins although Nigel Jemson got a late consolation goal. FOR MATCH REPORT click here>>>>

Ironically Ilkeston's team against Kendal Town was weakened by the omission of the suspended Ross Turner and Stuart Copnell. their offences were apparently committed after the game against Woodley Sports when Ilkeston uncharacteristically had five players booked.
