Debutants Cooke.

Ilkeston Town continued their impressive run of away form with their first three pointer of the season at Evesham United. Encouraged by an impressive performance in midweek at Halesowen Town Manager Charlie Bishop made only one change bringing debutant Russell Cooke for the injured Steve Coates.

Ilkeston got the perfect start in the first minute when Chris Thompson converted a Fabian Smith cross to give the Robins a 1-0 lead. Ilkeston looked to be the stronger side in the opening stages but Evesham started to get back into the game and began to put the Ilkeston defence under pressure. The Robins were fortunate not to concede on a number of occasions as the home side hit the woodwork three times. With Mark Lever and Craig Swinscoe impressing at the back Ilkeston weathered the storm and before the end of the game started to get back on top. Mark Nangle had two one on one chances which he squandered and Chris Thompson and Alex Callery also had very good chances which ex Robin Damien Beattie did well to save.
