ILSON LOSE TO WILLENHALL

2nd April  2005  UniBond League Division One

Ilkeston Town lost ground on the opposition losing 2-1 at Willenhall after taking a first half lead. North Ferriby narrowly beat Stocksbridge  but Telford were convincing 5-0 winners at Warrington.

As it stands Ilkeston Town need to win six of their last seven games to guarantee an automatic promotion spot and they must win no fewer than four games to win a place in the play offs. If however one of the wins was at Gresley Rovers they would only need to win three to gain access to the play offs.

WILLENHALL DROP POINTS AT SPALDING

5th April  2005  UniBond League Division One

Spalding United hold Willenhall to a 1-1 draw despite having lost their last six games. The point however takes Willenhall to the top of the table for the first time this season.

WINS FOR THREE OF TOP TEAMS

9th April  2005  UniBond League Division One

Ilkeston Town, AFC Telford and North Ferriby won all their games and the start of the midweek. Willenhall again surprisingly dropped points at Woodley and at home to Shepshed.

For Ilkeston the results still mean on form we should finish fourth bit if we win all our remaining games we will be guaranteed not only automatic promotion but the league title as well.

NORTH FERRIBY AND WILLENHALL LOSE

16th April  2005  UniBond League Division One

Ilkeston failed to capitalise on the fact that both North Ferriby and Willenhall Town surprisingly lost.lost. AFC Telford are the in form team at the moment but it is still incredibly tight at the top with all four teams having the potential to be on either 82 or 83 points by the end of the season. Goal difference could be the deciding factor.

If Ilkeston win all their remaining games and so do North Ferriby and Willenhall automatic promotion will be decided by goal difference which means we could do with stuffing a few teams. The Robins form is better than Willenhall and marginally better then North Ferriby.

IT'S STILL ALL UP FOR GRABS

23rd April  2005  UniBond League Division One

A win against Mossley and a point at Gresley Rovers have kept Ilkeston's hopes of going up in an automatic promotion spot very much alive. AFC Telford surprisingly dropped a point at Rossendale and Willenhall lost their second game in seven days against strugglers Chorley.

If the Robins win their last two games they will be promoted. If North Ferriby lose their last match against Mossley and the Robins win their last two games Ilkeston will go up as Champions. However North Ferriby must be favourites for the title and the second place seems to be between AFC Telford and Ilkeston.

LAST DAY IS DECISION DAY

23rd April  2005  UniBond League Division One

Ilkeston Towns late winner against Shepshed Dynamo moved them up into second place for the first time since the start of February. Willenhalll hit form and put themselves back into contention beating Gresley Rovers 4-1 at the Moat Ground.

All the top four can still gain promotion with one game to go. North Ferriby United and Ilkeston however have the advantage of knowing that if they win they will go up no matter what AFC Telford and Willenhall can do.

THERE AT LAST

30th April  2005  UniBond League Division One

One of the most nerve tingling seasons in Ilkeston Town's history was concluded when the Robins beat Chorley 1-0 to secure automatic promotion to the Unibond League Premier Division. Mossley could not beat North Ferriby United so the Humberside team deservedly won the Championship.
