Paul Pettinger Goalkeeper

 

A vastly experienced keeper Paul started his career as a trainee at Leeds United where he became an England Youth international. He made his League debut during a loan spell at Torquay. He also had a loan spell at Rotherham before Joining Gillingham. He then moved to Carlisle before joining Rotherham where he stayed for four years. He has since had a nomadic career playing for Lincoln City, Kettering Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Yeovil Town, Telford United, Hucknall Town, Harrogate Town, Stalybridge Celtic and Worksop Town.

 

 

 

James Colliver Defender

 

Born in Sheffield James started his career as a trainee at Rotherham. He then turned out for Worksop and Glapwell before joining Stocksbridge Park Steels. Spent three seasons with the Steels and was voted Supporters Player of the Year last season. (Has since joined Belper Town)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Barry Woolley Defender

 

Barry is now in his second spell at the New Manor Ground after joining the Robins from Hinckley during the close season. He started his career as a junior at Stoke City before joining Burton Albion. Barry then moved on to Rocester and then Gresley Rovers. He impressed at the Moat Ground and moved with Manager John McGinlay to Ilkeston. He then signed for Worcester City before joining Hinckley United. Barry also had a loan spell back at Gresley last season.

 

 

 

 

Richard Brewer Defender

 

Highly rated youngster who first made his mark with the reserves. A solid and reliable centre half has coped admirably when called up for first team duty and looks to be a player who has a bright future ahead of him if he can steer clear of injury.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Richard Munday Defender

 

Started his career at Rushall Olympic but was snapped up by Tamworth. Failed to make a first team appearance at the Lamb and moved to Solihull Borough although he has also turned out for Loughborough Dynamo. (Has since joined Stratford Town)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lee Featherstone Defender

 

Born in Chesterfield Lee started his career as a trainee at Sheffield United. Unable to get a break in the first team at Bramhall Lane Lee moved to Scunthorpe in 2002 and made a total of 35 appearances before moving on to Alfreton Town after a brief spell on loan at Harrogate Town in 2005. Lee became a crowd favourite at Alfreton making a total of 61 first team starts before joining Ilkeston in October 2006.

 

 

 

 

 

Liam Powell Defender

 

Born in Cardiff Liam started his career as a trainee at Leicester City. A Welsh U21 International he then has spells at Grimby Town, King's Lynn, Newport County and Boston United before joining Hucknall Town. He then moved to Stamford but signed for Ilkeston in August 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Danny White Defender

 

Danny was born in Sheffield but started his career working his way through the Buxton youth and reserve teams before joining his home town club Ashton United. He returned to Buxton via Mossley establishing himself as a hard working and reliable defender. He has trials with Matlock Town and Eastwood Town at the start of this season but chose to join the Robins instead.

 

 

 

 

 

Gareth Holmes Midfielder

 

Born in Mansfield Gareth started his career at Derby County. Left the Rams in 2002 and played briefly for Nuneaton Borough and Hucknall Town before making his name with Gresley Rovers. Moved north to play with Leigh RMI before joining the Robins in 2005. Gareth has become very popular with the fans at the New Manor Ground with his never say die attitude and high work rate.

 

 

 

 

 

Justin Walker Midfielder

 

A vastly experienced player Justin was born in Nottingham and started his career with home town club Nottingham Forest. In 1997 he joined Scunthorpe where he made 140 league appearances before moving on to Lincoln City. Has since played for Exeter City, Cambridge United, York City and Chester City.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ross Gardner Midfielder

 

Born in South Shields Ross started his career as a trainee at Newcastle United. Joined Nottingham Forest where he made his League debut. Went on loan to Port Vale in November 2006 before joining on a permanent contract in January 2007. Ross moved to the New Manor Ground in the close season and should prove to be a valuable asset.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Colin Hunter Midfielder

 

Born in Harrogate Colin initially played for his home town club Harrogate Railway.  He then moved to Guiseley before signing for hi first spell at Hednesford. Had short spells at Gainsborough Trinity and Leigh RMI before joining Morecambe. Signed for Harrogate Town in 2001 but returned to Hednesford in 2005.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ryan Hindley Midfielder

 

Ryan is now in his second spell at the New Manor Ground. He started his career as a trainee at Sheffield Wednesday before joining Worksop Town, Alfreton Town and then Halifax Town. Was signed for the Robins by Phil Stant and quickly became a fans favourite. Left to join Gainsborough Trinity but rejoined late last season.

(Has since joined Retford United)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Douglas Wade Midfielder

 

Dougie was born in Leicester and came through the youth ranks at Hinckley United. Made the senior side in 2004-05 and then joined Grantham on loan last season. Signed for Grantham again this season and started impress the Gingerbreads supporters with his direct wing play before joining the Robins in October 2006.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chris Wilson Midfielder

 

Chris has made a good impression in the first team when he was been called upon last season.  A product of the Robins successful reserve team.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Martin Carruthers Forward

 

Born in Nottingham Martin has a wealth of experience in the professional game having played for Aston Villa, Hull City, Stoke City, Peterborough United, York City, Darlington, Southend, Scunthorpe, Macclesfield Town, Boston United and Lincoln City and has been involved in transfers worth £445,000. Initially joined Ilkeston Town on loan from Grantham Town but then joined on a more permanent basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Adam Muller Forward

 

Born in Thackley Adam started his career at Sheffield Wednesday. After making five appearances in the Championship he joined Worksop Town initially on loan. He stayed with Worksop for four years before moving to Wakefield Emley. Two  seasons ago he had a very impressive loan spell at Ilkeston Town and was eventually signed permanently. Adam was top goalscorer with 26 goals last season and was voted Supporters Player of the Year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Neil Ross Forward

 

Born in West Bromwich Neil started his career as a trainee at Leeds United before joining Stockport County. Had spells on loan at Bristol Rovers, Tamworth and Northwich Victoria. Neil then played for Macclesfield and Halifax Town before moving on to Bradford Park Avenue and Ossett Town before joining Ilkeston Town in the close season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jermaine Palmer Forward

 

Born in Nottingham the son of ex Ram Charlie Palmer Jermaine started his career as a trainee at Stoke City. After four appearances from the bench for the Potters he joined Grimsby Town. He then had loan spells at Scarborough and York City. In 2006 he joined Alfreton Town before moving on to Hinckley United. (Has since joined Worksop Town)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shane Newton Forward

 

Another successful reserve team product who should be looking to stake a claim for a first team place this season. Highly regarded as one for the future.

 

Nigel Jemson Player Manager

 

Born in Hutton Nigel started his career as a trainee at Preston North End. He was soon spotted by Brian Clough and duly signed for Nottingham Forest in 1988. After three successful years at Forest Nigel moved to Sheffield Wednesday for £800,000. He then figured in big money transfers to Notts County, Oxford United and Bury whilst also fitting in loan spells at Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End, Grimsby Town, Watford, Coventry City and Rotherham United. In 1999 Nigel moved to Scotland to play for Ayr United before returning south to play for Oxford United again and Shrewsbury Town. Nigel Jemson shot back into the limelight at Gay Meadow when he scored the goals that knocked Everton out of the FA Cup. Nigel turned out for Ballymena United and had a trail with Partick Thistle before signing for the Robins in 2004. Became manager at the New Manor Ground two years ago and is looking to take the club upwards and onwards.
